If you’ve read Awesomely Awake at all then you know I believe in the power of messes and mistakes.
This course is perfect for mothers who long to write and create but have children under foot. This is perfect for families that want something extraordinary for a Friday night. This is perfect for a mother-tween daughter bonding moment.
This course helps you toss out all the rules you ever learned about writing and creativity. It helps you shed all the self-doubt you’ve come to claim and makes writing and creating fun, again –like it used to be in 5th grade when your imagination was free and you were, too. This course is geared toward anyone who wants to write more creatively and who wants to move past the fear of making mistakes.
It’s perfect for individuals (it was originally for individuals when taught locally) but is also geared toward families or small groups to do together as well — including mothers and daughters, siblings and friends. I will also have ways to incorporate young children into the activities you’ll do.
Yes, there will be messes. Yes, there will be mistakes. Yes, there will be laughter. There will be self-discovery.
Don’t worry. It’s not all about making messes — but more about learning to let go and find that inner artist that is inside all of us, especially our children. It’s really about letting go of the perfections and bad habits we hang on to as people — and then eagerly pass on to the next generation without thought.

Who am I to teach a class like this?
Good question. First, I was doing pudding painting with my children when they were just six months old in high chairs. Second, I’ve been a writer as long as I’ve been alive — and have even gotten paid to write for newspapers and magazines, including Pregnancy, FitPregnancy, Wondertime and others.
Finally, I am a creativity guru — always choosing activities and lessons for myself and my family that will stretch my imagination and theirs. Writing and creating isn’t about not having anything to say … you have to work those muscles.
I am a creative coach and love to help people uncover their inner most creative desires — and make them happen!
This course is a hybrid of a writing course I’ve taught locally.
