Amaze Yourself & Be Fabulously Imperfect

Confession: I am not perfect.

Neither are my kids.

Truly.

So, this week let’s set our intentions to honor our imperfections.

Let’s toast to the many things that flounder at the mere thought of living up to Perfection. Let’s acknowledge them and let them go like dust in the wind. Release the negative energy that’s holding you back from moving forward …

Like a sink full of dirty dishes before rushing out the door in the morning.

Like saying the wrong thing at the wrong time in the wrong place.

Like looking in the mirror and seeing the wrinkles, the laugh lines, the waist line, and cringing.

Like kids with messy faces.

Mismatched outfits.

Mischief in their eyes.

A floor full of toys.

Cars that need cleaned.

Rooms that need dusted.

Kids that just keep fighting.

And fighting.

Like those moments when we weren’t kind.

Or happy.

Or grateful.

Or patient enough.

Or paying enough attention.

Or loving unconditionally.

And when we just couldn’t give a smile.

Or stop judging.

Or walk away when we should have.

Or stayed when we should have.

Or when we gave up.

Let go of all that not doing enough stuff, all that not giving enough stuff and all that not volunteering enough stuff.

Let it all go.

All of it.

Whatever it is that you’re stressing about — maybe it’s something you’re not doing well enough or often enough or with enough love or kindness — embrace that imperfect part of you.

Embrace the human being inside of you who is only just doing the absolute best you can be at this moment in time.

Give that perfectly imperfect person a hug, an energy boost, a break … something. No matter who it is. You deserve it! They deserve it. We deserve it.

  1. thank you for yet another positive booster shot – nice way to start the week. Letting go the negative and embracing the positive is very powerful and at a basic level so centering. Being in the moment is so simple but often so hard to do.

    • Thank you so much. That’s the intent behind the intentions — to get us to appreciate moment and create a village where we are all on the same page working together. : )
